Why do you think the men continued fishing in the movie 'Jindabyne'?
I had to watch the movie Jindabyne for my Film course. Something I was wondering is what peoples different opinions were on why the men continued fishing after finding the body??

My thought was that they were in shock, and weren’t really thinking straight?

 maybe the body was to small nd they had to set it free.

2 questions about the poem "To His Coy Mistress". Please check my answers, im pretty sure..?
There both D but im not sure..

1 Had we but world enough, and time,
2 This coyness, lady, were no crime.
3 We would sit down and think which way
4 To walk, and pass our long love’s day;
5 Thou by the Indian Ganges’ side
6 Shouldst rubies find; I by the tide
7 Of Humber would complain. I would
8 Love you ten years before the Flood;
9 And you should, if you please, refuse
10 Till the conversion of the Jews.
11 My vegetable love should grow
12 Vaster than empires, and more slow.
13 An hundred years should go to praise
14 Thine eyes, and on thy forehead gaze;
15 Two hundred to adore each breast,
16 But thirty thousand to the rest;
17 An age at least to every part,
18 And the last age should show your heart.
19 For, lady, you deserve this state,
20 Nor would I love at lower rate.

21 But at my back I always hear
22 Time’s winged chariot hurrying near;
23 And yonder all before us lie
24 Deserts of vast eternity.
25 Thy beauty shall no more be found,
26 Nor, in thy marble vault, shall sound
27 My echoing song; then worms shall try
28 That long preserv’d virginity,
29 And your quaint honour turn to dust,
30 And into ashes all my lust.
31 The grave’s a fine and private place,
32 But none I think do there embrace.

33 Now therefore, while the youthful hue
34 Sits on thy skin like morning dew,
35 And while thy willing soul transpires
36 At every pore with instant fires,
37 Now let us sport us while we may;
38 And now, like am’rous birds of prey,
39 Rather at once our time devour,
40 Than languish in his slow-chapp’d power.
41 Let us roll all our strength, and all
42 Our sweetness, up into one ball;
43 And tear our pleasures with rough strife
44 Thorough the iron gates of life.
45 Thus, though we cannot make our sun
46 Stand still, yet we will make him run.

1. The tone of Marvell’s poem is best described as:
a. tender and mild
b. thoughtful and devoted
c. angry and impatient
d. clever and passionate

2. To what do the lines "Time’s winged chariot hurrying near" refer?
a. the rising of the sun
b. his lover’s acceptance of the speaker
c. the unwanted attentions from his rival
d. the coming of death

 im sorry its way to confusing but google it im shure youll find it
Now, this outrageous new comedy serves up this secret world for the first time on-screen. Down-and-out former professional Ping-Pong phenom Randy Daytona (Dan Fogler) is sucked into this maelstrom when FBI Agent Rodriguez (George Lopez) recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and recapture his former glory, and to smoke out his father’s (Robert Patrick) killer – one of the FBI’s Most Wanted, arch-fiend Feng (Christopher Walken). But, after two decades out of the game, Randy can’t turn his life around and avenge his father’s murder without a team of his own. He calls upon the spiritual guidance of blind Ping-Pong sage and restaurateur Wong (James Hong), and the training expertise of Master Wong’s wildly sexy niece Maggie (Maggie Q), both of whom also have a dark history with Feng. All roads lead to Feng’s mysterious jungle compound and the most unique Ping-Pong tournaments ever staged. There, Randy faces such formidable players as his long-ago Olympics opponent, the still-vicious Karl Wolfschtagg (Thomas Lennon). Can Randy keep his eye on the ball? Will he achieve the redemption he craves while wielding a paddle? Is his backhand strong enough to triumph over rampant wickedness?

Although their idea of a non-stop revue is at first a success, other theatres copy it and disaster looms. Laura suggests they put nudes in the show, but Van Damm points out that the Lord Chamberlain, who licenses live shows in Britain, is likely to have something to say about this.
how do they KNOW the planets will be aligned on that EXACT date?
when they discovered all of this ”information” as to what is supposed to happen on ”december 21, 2012” how do they KNOW the planets will be aligned. how do they KNOW that the earth and sun will be aligned with the galaxy’s blackhole? do you know how many years away that is? how could they possibly know that far ahead in time.

and also, i have read about polar shifts that have a 5200 year cycle, what exactly does it DO does it just alter the earth’s rotation into going the opposite direction? will it just make us lose the internet, all satellites and a lot of resources or what?

 Julius | Nov 14, 2009

 Nobody discovered any information that is related to any disasters or apocalyptic events that is supposed to happen on december 21, 2012. Just good old myths and shi’t.

Poles don’t shift.
Its a cycle, not an ending, and has been observed for eons.

Many are fascinated that the Mayans knew of us and this time we’re in.

Patterns are recordable.

Pretty simple.
sativamama | Nov 14, 2009

 First, the planets NEVER align in a straight line. Their orbits prevent a straight line alignment. Second, no major alignments (our perception from Earth) are scheduled for 2012. It is rare that even 3 planets align (sort of) a 5 planet alignment as seen from Earth (not actually lined up) is extremely rare. All of them have NEVER lined up.

This is just part of the junk science surrounding the 2012 hoax. You can download the free Stellarium planetarium software and run the dates ahead in time and determine when 1, or 2, or 3 planets will all be in the sky at the same time.

As for an alignment between the sun and the Earth and the "center" of the Milky Way Galaxy, this happens EVERY YEAR on December 21st– guess the hoaxers forgot to mention that! The entire solar system is actually about 6 degrees away from the center moving further AWAY.

http://www.2012hoax.org

ACTUAL shifts in the rotational axis of the Earth NEVER happen! Magnetic shifts in the Earth’s magnetic field do happen about every 200,000- 900,000 years it varies greatly. It’s a slow process that happens over thousands of years. No extinction events have been tied to a magnetic pole shift.
Bullseye | Nov 14, 2009

 The positions of planets can be calculated to high accuracy from orbital models. Careful observation of the sky will produce useful data. This is what the ancients did, since they didn’t have telescopes or computers.

You don’t need VSOP87 or DE405 – a casual glance at the sky will suffice – to see that the planets aren’t even close to being aligned in 2012. Even now, Jupiter and Saturn are pulling away from each other. They won’t be near each other in the sky again until late 2020, which will be a spectacular sight in Capricornus. With no alignment of Jupiter and Saturn, any talk of alignment involving other planets is moot.

The mean time between alignments to, say, 1 degree (twice the width of the full moon) is several orders of magnitude greater than the age of the universe.
It’s possible to predict the future positions of the Sun, Moon and planets very accurately and it can be shown that there’s no alignment on 21st December 2012. Talk of the Sun being in line with the galaxy’s black hole is the work of crackpots and frauds who don’t know anything about astronomy.
The same applies to this 5200 year cycle of polar shift – pure fiction.
You need to get your information from reputable websites, such as the one below.

 I’m away at college and I can’t get back to get the actual card with the code for online. I want to go to Gap this weekend and do some Christmas shopping, so I was wondering if with just my discount card I can get the 30% off. I know that I get 5 30% a month, but is it unlimited this weekend?
I spoke with my manager and I either need my own F&F card or to have another employee send one to me. problem solved.

 I work at O.N. too. That is a very good question. The discount card that you were supposed to get has a barcode on it, linked to a discount code to indicate the friends and family discount. You should probably talk to the manager at the Gap you are shopping at and explain that you dont have your F&F card but ask them if you can get unlimited items using your "employee discount" rather than "friends and family discount". Or possibly they have some extra cards at the store and they could just give you one to use the barcode discount code.

what am i missing? how do i know what resolution i have to change it to? i have my tv’s manual, but its very confusing, it lists a whole bunch of resolutions.

please help. do i need a special video card or something? does the tv and pc have to be OFF when i connect the wire? what are the secrets to this???

 Probably have to push the external monitor button on your laptop. Usually one of the F keys on top. F5 F6 or close to it.

Good Luck
speednutt | Nov 10, 2009

 Try connecting the two while both are turned OFF. Then turn the laptop on first to load, followed by the TV.

Press the F8 key while holding down your function button (Fn), this will change the display setting.

 Okay, so I’m 18. Theres this girl at my local youth group that I talked to recently and just started getting to know. I managed to get her number and she told me to text her. I’ve texted her here and there and such and we were both looking forward to going to this roller skating event for our youth group the following week. The last minute she said she couldnt go because of her thanksgiving preparation plans and so she was pissed about it. When I talked to her on the phone, she seemed kindof down. I really like this girl and I want to make it up to her, should I invite her to go roller skating with me sometime over the coming weekend? Would a girl feel happy if a guy took them to do something like that to make up something for them?
