Alas Babylon, The Alchemyst (just read it!), Bridge of San Luis Rey, Red Sky at Morning, Something Wicked This Way Comes, A Grows in Brooklyn. I loved the Broadway show Wicked, but hated the book. For the record, I also hate Brave New World!

A couple are classics (like Brave New World). If you like SciFi, try Forever War.
