Making Money While on the Road

November 25th, 2009 by erikriley1977

The diversity of jobs that require travel can be surprising for anyone who thinks that work and career are about going to and back from an office. As we may easily imagine, sales people travel most as they have territory-based operations and clients to visit. The area of residence usually becomes the base, while the targeted territory includes the neighboring states and cities.

Jobs that require travel are encountered with any company no matter the field of activity. Restaurants, retail chains or hotel lines depend on regional management positions. These jobs that require travel provide some facilities to the employee, such as a corporate car, access to good hotels and restaurants based on an agreement signed with the mother company, and more money on the paycheck. In fact the financial stimulants are considerable and the higher the sales, the more advantageous the payment.

Other jobs that require travel include flight attendants and pilots, public speakers, software installers and trainers, athletic recruiters, reporters and many others. Each has its specifics, but what we can determine as common feature is the need for reaching as wide an audience as possible. If we consider the case of a software trainer, we'll get an idea about how market niches get to open to large companies.

The mechanisms have little complexity here: any new software program depends on trained staff to operate it. A professional can visit businesses in a determined geographical location where he or she spends a few days and performs the training. The more people have access to the program, the higher the sales for the producing company. Money sets things in motion and justifies the existence of jobs that require travel. Public speakers travel long distances to honor their business engagements, as they make a living from such services.

Somebody has to do jobs that require travel because as long as they are in demand the rate of unemployment for a certain work sector will be lower. The thing is that you have to know whether a job that involves a lot of traveling is right for you. Some people have family obligations, others feel very uncomfortable wondering from one place to another, even if it is for a clearly set purpose. Vocational aptitudes remain relevant for jobs that require travel, as it happens with all other activity sectors.

Canadian Photographic Showcase

November 14th, 2009 by erikriley1977

I have been waiting for a long time to find a topic that I would be interested enough in to work on a book. It makes me sad that I haven't found anything that I have wanted to work on yet.

Just this week I was given the option to work with a stock photography agency to create a book on scenery across Canada. There will be a wide variety of photographs used in the book including Canadian birds and photos of people from regions across Canada.

It looks like the project will take quite a bit of time, but I look forward to seeing the final product. It will rock.

Looking for Handbags Online

September 17th, 2009 by erikriley1977

Though I have a lot of experience shopping in the real world, when it comes to online shopping, I am a bit of a newbie. I haven't had much luck with online shopping and have avoided it until today.

But since I haven’t been feeling to well lately, I haven’t been able to go out shopping. So, I have been trying to sit down at my computer to find some designer handbags for my daughter’s birthday. Though I feel a little bit uncomfortable about the whole thing, she doesn't turn 25 everyday, so I have to make it work.

I would never have guessed that I would be writing this online, but here I am and I will tell you why..

You see, my wife has been sick for awhile and I have been needing an outlet to talk about what I am dealing with. Since I don’t have a whole lot of friends, I figure that this will be a good outlet to do that, so I hope you don’t mind reading.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you all soon.
